About Us

Founded in 1973, Right to Life of Owensboro began in the home of Mrs. Virginia Corley and has grown to over 400 members today. It is a non-profit, non-denominational, and non-political organization whose mission is to change hearts and minds so that everyone will understand that life begins at the moment of conception and ends with natural death.

Because we are a non-profit organization, we are completely dependent on donations and grants. One of our greatest challenges is to combat the anti-life message that Planned Parenthood spreads throughout our society. Planned Parenthood receives federal tax dollars to fund the spread of its devastating message. Without generous donations, we would not be able to continue to combat their efforts. This is why all past, present, and future donations to RTLO are so graciously appreciated.

Because we are a non-denominational organization, we believe that the pro-life message is not exclusive to only one religion. People of every faith can share an appreciation for the sanctity of life.

Our non-political status means that we are not affiliated with one, specific political party. We believe that the right to life is a moral issue, not a political one. We inform people of pro-life and pro-choice legislation that is being considered at the local, state, and federal levels. We also inform voters of the professed beliefs of political candidates, which allows them to make informed decisions in the voting booth. However, we will never endorse a candidate.

The main goal of Right to Life of Owensboro is to educate others on the sanctity of life and the work towards this goal is dependent on volunteers. Therefore, we are entirely a volunteer organization. These dedicated men and women generously give their time to help make the operation of our office possible. There are many duties that these gracious people perform, from general office duties to organizing events. In order to consistently provide our services, RTLO requires regular volunteers and a pool of substitute volunteers who are willing to help out on an as-needed basis. This way, we will be able to have the most significant impact on our community.

Because of generous donations of time, talent, and treasure, Right to Life of Owensboro has been able to share the message of life with our community for over 40 years. We are so grateful for the generosity of this community. We know that we can declare, with assurance, that we are the pro-life generation and we will end abortion!
